“Yemen Eco” website investigated about the American ship “GIBRALTAR EAGLE” which the American Central Command announced that it was hit by a Yemeni missile on Monday, in the Gulf of Aden during its destination to Israel.
Available information indicated on “Marine Traffic “ website, about the ship “GIBRALATAR”, that it is a bulk carrier with a total tonnage of 36,332 tons.it is about 200 meters long and exceeds 32 meters in width. It was built in 2015, and carries the flag of Marshall Islands.
The Central Command said in a statement monitored by “Yemen Eco” that the Houthis launched at 4 o’clock Monday night, Sana’a local time, a ballistic missile ant ships from their controlled areas in Yemen and hit the ship “GIBRALTAR EAGLE” as it expressed.
It confirmed that the missile hit the ship M/V GIBRALTAR owned to the USA raising the flag of the Marshal Islands.
Earlier on Monday, Reuters reported about the British maritime security company Ambrey that a ship is carrying bulk goods raising the flag of Marshal Islands, and is possessed by the USA was targeted by a missile near by the Gulf of Aden in Yemen.
The British maritime security Ambrey company said that “the estimations indicated to that the ship was not affiliated with Israel”, reaffirming that the offensive is considered targeting the interests of the USA in response to its air strikes for military positions of the Houthis in Yemen.
This is the first American ship to be attacked since the Sana ‘a forces began their operations in the Red Sea to prevent Israeli ships or those headed towards Israel from crossing against the backdrop of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, which observers considered an indication that the Sana ‘a forces may have included American and British ships in their list of targets, after the attacks launched by the USA and UK on Yemen since dawn last Friday.
On the same aspect, a Yemeni military source clarified that Sana’a forces targeted a ship that was heading to Israel through the Red Sea, Aljazera channel attributed a Yemeni military source his confirmation that the targeting came after the ship refused the warnings that directed to it.
Earlier, the leader of Ansar Allah Abdulmalik Alhouthi, reaffirmed in his last televised speech followed up by “Yemen Eco” last Thursday, “any country involves in launching offensive on Yemen will expose its shipping and ships to danger in the Red Sea.
Al-Houthi clarified that the American commercial ships or any ships affiliated within the American naval alliance, will be a target for Sana’a forces in case of its involvement in targeting the Yemeni naval forces, and will be in a direct military confrontation with Sana’a forces.
He said that “anyone who participate in and assault Yemeni citizens and aim at the Yemeni naval forces is essentially jeopardizing his maritime activities and his commercial vessels”. He emphasized that those who intend to attack Yemeni citizens are putting themselves in danger at a military level, by engaging in a confrontation that they will pay the price for.”
