Yemen Eco| Reports:
Yemeni political sources revealed to “Yemen Eco” website about unprecedented escalation between the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government from one hand, and Saudi Arabia from the other, on the backdrop of the Yemeni side’s stance from the road map, resulting from the negotiations between Sana’a and Riyadh for ending the war in Yemen, that was sponsored by the Sultanate of Oman, and the UN fostered its announcement before days, whereas reports indicated that is expected to announce the signing of the agreement at the beginning of next year.
According to sources, Saudi Arabia sent an angry letter to the presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government, accused them of attempting to coordinate with the USA for foiling the path of negotiations between Riyadh and the Houthis foe putting an end to the continued war for about nine years, whereas the sources indicated to the Saudi letter came after the Yemeni government sent an invitation to those described by the states of the red sea to encounter the Houthis attacks, and considered it a support of the American coalition which was announced before days and Saudi Arabia refused to join it at least publically.
It was clear since the beginning of the Saudi talks with the Houthis in Sana’a, the complaint of the Yemeni government which it expressed through statements of the parties that it is formed from, that it had welcomed those talks, but it had expressed its adherence to it, in a step that it had expressed its refusal for the path of the Saudi consultations with the Houthis.
Explicit dispute between lines:
The UN special envoy to Yemen Hans Grudenberg, announced last Saturday his welcome” that the parties have reached to commit to a group of measures included the ceasefire including all Yemen, and measure for improving the livelihood in Yemen, involving in the preparations for reusing an inclusive political process under the UN patronage in accordance with the statement issued by him.
The statement, said which (came after a series of talks with the parties in Riyadh and Muscat, including the Head of the Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Aluliami, and the senior negotiator of Ansar Allah Mohammed Abdu salam, that the road map which will be sponsored by the UN, will include, among other elements, obligation of the parties to implement ceasefire throughout the country, reimbursement of all the salaries of the public sector, resumption of oil exports, opening roads in Taiz, and other parts of Yemen, continuation of mitigating the restrictions imposed on Sana’a airport and Hodeida port.”
It was clear that the UN envoy’s statement emptied of any indication to the three references, including in the security council’s resolution no. 2016 which was described as it becomes an obstacle prevents reaching peace in Yemen, and it is not possible to be carried out.
After the statement of the United Nations envoy, Saudi Arabia issued a statement in which it welcomed the UN envoy’s announcement and also similar statements were issued from Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Jordan and Egypt, where all of them welcomed the announcement of the UN envoy, and expressed their support for reaching a settlement in Yemen, it was noticeable also that those statements were emptied from mentioning the security council resolution no. 2216 in particular, or the three references in general.
On the contrary, the foreign ministry of the Yemeni government issued a statement showed a welcome for the announcement of the UN envoy, but included the adherence of the three references, that negates the negotiations path, between Riyadh and Sana’a and the UN envoy. In the statement,” the ministry renewed confirmation of its positive treatment with all initiatives aiming to the crisis settlement in Yemen with peaceful means, in accordance to the three references: the gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, outcomes of the national dialogue comprehensive conference and the security council‘s resolution no.2216, in what achieves the aspirations and hopes of the Yemeni people.”
The Yemeni government seeks help from Washington to resist the settlement.
Since the beginning of Sana’a forces’ attacks on the Israeli vessels, Saudi Arabia attempted to maintain understandings’ path with Sana’a government, and averting the Israeli war’s impact on Gaza by its endeavors to get out of the war in Yemen.
With the start of the American invitations to encounter the attacks of Sana’a forces, “Reuters” revealed about a letter addressed by Saudi Arabia to USA in which it requested not to respond to the attacks of the Sana’a forces against Israel, fearing that could lead to the escalation which will effect on Saudi Arabia and its economy.
The Agency stated in a report monitored by “Yemen Eco” about two informed sources “as saying that Saudi Arabia requested the United states to have self-restraint in responding to the attacks of the Houthis group in Yemen on vessels in the red sea.”
The source added:” the letter of self-restraint addressed by Riyadh to Washington aims at avoiding more escalation.
After the announcement of the USA of the formation of a coalition to encounter the attacks of the Sana’a forces against the Israeli vessels on 19th of the current December, Saudi Arabia did not join the coalition but the New York Times newspaper reported last Sunday about senior American officials as saying that the decision of attacking the Houthis has not yet taken, and that refers to basically to the fear of renewing the fighting between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia.
Newly, and on the contrary of that, the Yemeni government called on Tuesday described them the states that overlooking the red sea to move urgently to encounter this Iranian futility in the security of the region and freedom of international navigation at one of the most important trade passages in the world, confirming the Yemen principled and steady stance to the side of the Palestinian people, and his right in self-defense and establishing his independent entire state, with fully sovereign state in accordance to reports published by the news agency affiliated with the Yemeni government on a meeting for the cabinet.
Meanwhile, reports and information obtained by “Yemen Eco” and published them last time, revealed that the Yemeni government, deemed that Saudi Arabia is forcing it to accept the results of the talks with government of Sana’a or the Houthis, the Yemeni government, found the American attempts to encounter the Houthis is a chance to coordinate with Washington to resist the Saudi settlement, through its involvement in the American collation in the red sea against the Houthis’ attacks on the Israeli vessels and that is what makes Saudi Arabia angry, and confirming that, in spite of the Saudi’s welcome and its Arab alliances with the announcement of the UN envoy, on the road map, it was noticeable that any of the American envoy to Yemen or the British ambassador to Yemen, did not issue anything about their stance publically, regarding the UN envoy’s announcement and this is what likely confirm the accusations authentic addressed by Sana’a to USA with foiling an imminent agreement with coalition to end the war in Yemen.
