The Yemen Air Ways intends to improve its services, expands its activities, opening new destinations and enhances its fleet in adding two new aircrafts
Yemen Saba news agency of the Yemeni government mentioned that the board of directors of the Yemen airways discussed during its periodical meeting in the Egyptian capital Cairo today, Saturday, chaired by Captain Nasser Mahmoud, the efforts of improving the company’s services and its future development plans.
The news agency added that the meeting which comprised of the members of the board of directors of the company, from both the Yemeni side and the Saudi side, reviewed the company’s efforts for expanding its activities, services, opening new destinations, enhancing its fleet by adding two new aircrafts, and noticeable progress, in the implementation of the strategic plan and the level of decisions and recommendations of the previous meeting.
The conversation comes about the commencing of steering flights to new destinations after the threatening of Sana’a government that it would not accept the continuation of the current situation represented in the limited flights from Sana’a airport to Jordan, while the sources confirmed to “Yemen eco” website that the coalition informed Sana’a that it didn’t mind to expand the flights and destinations from Sana’a leaving the matter for discussion between Sana’a and Yemenia management in Aden, indicating that the Saudi ambassador Mohammed Al Jaber directed Yemenia management on more than occasion to respond to Sana’a government’s demands and its last the resumption of the flights to October which Yemenia suspended for two weeks, whereas this comes within Saudi offices to contain the anger of Sana’a and dissuade it of escalation especially, within Alaqsa typhoon operation and what war that has been continued on Gaza by Israel and fears of expanding the conflict to include the whole region.

The Yemen air ways company had resumed its flights from Sana’a Int’l airport at the mid of last week, after it had suspended them since the beginning of this October, in a move that aimed to pressure the Sana’a government to be able to withdraw all its balances from the banks in Sana’a, then enter into bargaining with the Sana’a government, during which it presented an initiative to resume flights at 3 weekly flights, which Sana’a rejected. The discussions then resulted in the resumption of Yemenia flights through Sana’a Airport, with six flights based on Sana’a stipulation, while information indicates that Saudi directives stand behind the resumption.
